Today, with David Maier and Kay Van Valkenburg, Susie and I visited Trier, Germany, which is about 90 minutes from Metz. In other posts I'll write more about our visit, but I thought I'd at least present our second novel lunch in as many days. We've been in France, Luxembourg, and Germany, with today's lunch at the
Restaurant Zum Domstein. We had, among other things, venison in juniper-berry gravy, saurkraut with varied meats, and a vegetarian plate, all of which were terrific. We started, though, with a thoroughly German introduction to the meal, as you can see in this photo.
